Factory visit at Joyson Safety Systems Hungary Kft

02. May 2023. 12:10
The Faculty of Economics, University of Miskolc, Hungary has the strategic goals of enhancing the practical orientation of its courses and fostering good relations with our partner companies, as well as integrating their labour market needs into our educational programmes. All these goals were achieved by the visit of our MBA students to the Joyson Safety Systems Hungary plant in Miskolc on 28 April 2023, during which 12 foreign and one Hungarian full-time MBA student visited the plant.

Our group of students, led by Tamás Bakó MBA lecturer, arrived at the company at 10 am, where we were already waiting for us. First, we heard a presentation of about an hour about the history of Joyson, including important dates of the Miskolc factory, of course in English, then we filled in the safety declarations and put on the "spurs" against electrostatic charging.

We visited the injection moulding and dyeing plant and the leather sewing department - all before lunch. Then, between 13 and 14 hours, we visited the airbag assembly unit and finally the test laboratory. This was the most interesting part od the program, because it was here that they gave a live demonstration of how airbags should work as a means of protecting the lives of car passengers.

During the visit, we had guides who were familiar with the area and spoke excellent English, one of whom was a graduate of the University's Faculty of Earth Sciences, so was happy to help the Alma Mater. A special thank you goes to Andrea Kővári Kappelmayerné, HR Specialist from our hosts, without whose organisational work this high quality professional programme would not have been possible.

At the end of the visit, the students thanked us for the opportunity, the great hospitality and the exhaustive professional information. Photos of the event were also taken to make it memorable for everyone.

We are working to make sure that our MBA students will have many more similar experiences in the future!
