Procedure of the complex exam

 

The complex exam will consist of two parts:

  • presentation and defending of the thesis proposal,
  • theoretical exam.

The thesis proposal has to be presented by the PhD student. After the presentation the thesis supervisor will inform the committee on his/her opinion on the thesis proposal. After it the committee members will raise questions to be answered by the student.

The second part will be the theoretical exam which follows the study plan of the PhD programs of Management or Regional sciences. Two exams have to be done by each PhD student: one is the required for specialisation subject, and the second is the compulsory subjec related to the research topic. There will be three subjects in both subjec groups. The teachers of the courses specify five questions to each subject. These questions have been  sent to the students registered for the exam.

The teachers of the courses will specify the background literature for each question. The literature background has be sent to the students. This literature intends to orient the students but does not mean the required knowledge to answer the  the question related to the subjects. The required literature includes the study materialss used in teaching the cources.  

During the exam the thesis committee will select the specific subject from each study blocks. After it the committee will select the specific question to be answered by the student.

Economics: Spatial economics, Comparative economics, Finance

Business: Business economics, Marketing theory, Organization theory

 

Compulsory courses related to the research topic:

Management: Strategic and innovation management, Project management, Human resource management

Economic theory and methods: Business forecasting, Public economics, Modern market theory

Spatial economics: Tools of regional economics, World economics, Regionalism in the modern Europe

Finance and accounting: Effects of international accounting on the Hungarian practices, International finance, Development and evaluation of controlling systems

Business economics: Public enterprise management, Managerial economics, Macroeconomic business environment

Marketing schools and applications:  Methods of market analysis, Paradigms of social marketing, International marketing
