SPECIALIZATION IN FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING (BA)

Duration of program:
6 academic semesters + related professional practice outside the university (for part-time students: your place of work – if it corresponds to this specialization - will be considered)

Qualification in the degree:
Economist, B.A. in Specialization "Finance and Accounting"

After the third semester, students can choose a specialization. Specializations offer beyond general knowledge in finance and accounting special knowledge in the field chosen.

Specialization in Finance: the aim of this specialization is to deepen knowledge concerning financial affairs of corporations, central administration and financial institutions. You will get special knowledge in the following fields: corporate financial planning, finances of the central administration, banking, investments and securities.

Specialization in Accounting: the aim of this specialization is to deepen knowledge in different fields related to accounting. You will get special knowledge in the following fields: banking accounting, accounting of non-profit organizations.

MASTER PROGRAMME IN ACCOUNTING (MA)


Institute in charge: Institute of Business Information Management and Methodology

Objective: the objective of the programme is to train professionals who, following the acquisition of internationally competitive, up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge, are able to direct, control and analyse the accounting processes of economic organisations. In possession of their theoretical and practical, business and methodology knowledge, purposefully developed executive skills and competences, they are able to perform middle and upper-executive tasks in various areas of the domestic and international economy, process the international and domestic literature of accounting, enhance it and pursue doctoral studies.

Entry requirements
Programmes accepted in admission into the master programme as a pre-requirement and not in line with the Bologna process (under the proposal for the establishment of the Master Programme in Accounting):


It is an entry requirement into the master programme that students possess a minimum of 30 credit points in the above fields of knowledge. The missing credit points are to be obtained parallel with the studies aimed at obtaining a Master’s Degree, within two years as from admission according to the stipulations on the Students’ Requirement System of the University of Miskolc and its Faculty of Economics.
