The aim of our institute is to offer up-to-date courses in economics, giving the necessary theoretical grounding of courses in applied economics taught by the Faculty of Economics and offering knowledge in order to help students develop a critical approach. Our institute analyses micro- and macroeconomic processes and their social and historical context and aims to improve competences in qualitative and quantitative methods.

We offer courses in the fields of economic theory: (microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics, comparative economics and history of economic thought), economic history and economic policy. Our lecturers take part in the education of other faculties of the University of Miskolc. The improvement of our present teaching materials based on practice-oriented education and the elaboration of new materials are considered very important by us.
